Goals for 2014...

I hope everyone had a festive Christmas - mine was busy (like most women's Christmas)...

This year I set myself a goal of completing Sadness of Gaia, which of course I didn't complete... It was too big a goal and midway through the year I lost all interest in stitching.

So here is my before and after of Sadness of Gaia:
Sadness of Gaia on 2nd January 2013.
Sadness of Gaia as of 20th December 2013.
But there are some things I did achieve which I didn't think I would do, firstly I managed to find a job here in Rzeszow, Poland using my English as a Nanny to a 19th month old girl, its a job I enjoy and its only part time.  In September took up running which I fell in love with it and since then I have completed two 10K Races.

So my Goals for 2014...

First I have joined 'Stitch from Stash', it is being hosted by Mel at 'Epic Stitching', which is a year long challenge and you have a budget of $25 (US) per month only to spend on your craft stash and there is monthly and a yearly prize to be won.  Each month you email Mel with your spending and she will kindly keep track - I am going to create a page to track mine on here...

As I am in Poland I will be converting the $25 amount into Zloty, giving me a monthly budget of 75 pln per month to spend - wow that is a lot of money.

Take part in the TUSAL over at 'Its Daffycat' - I loved it this year.

I am also taking part in the Josephine Wall SAL 2014 (which I organise on Facebook), my aim is to complete 10 pages of Sadness of Gaia in 2014.  There are 42 and I have completed 18 pages so far - only 43%...

I have a cross stitch design from Cross Stitcher Magazine, I want to complete as a gift for the girl I Nanny for as a birthday gift in March 2014.

I am also going to learn how to use a sewing machine, it is something I have always wanted to learn and my Mother-in-Law is going to teach me - I going to make my first quilt in 2014.

Now my running goals, I had originally planned to run 2 Full Marathons next year (they are 26.2 miles or 42.7K) but I decided that it was too much and gave up the idea.  I have now spent a lot of time thinking about this and I am going to run:
  • 1 Full Marathon in May 2014
  • 5 Half Marathons throughout the year - first in March 2014.
  • 6 10K Runs throughout the year - first in February 2014 - A night run.
I am now completely excited by my races and cant wait for the full training to start on 1st January 2014.

And my final goal is to improve my Polish Language Skills, as they are still quite poor and I have now lived here for nearly three years.

I think that is enough goals for next year - I believe they are all achievable and cant wait to start them and complete them.

Did you achieve any of this years goals?
What are your goals for next year?
Are you going to join in the Stitch from Stash Group?
